Core Four Collective, a new fitness gym, is set to occupy a newly remodeled space at 125 S. Stevens in downtown Spokane.
The business is owned by local attorney and fitness enthusiast Janelle Brennan, who came up with the idea for Core Four with the help of her friend, Emily Rogers.
“Emily and I had talked over the idea of starting something together, as I was a barre instructor at her studio here in town,” she says. “However, ultimately I decided to start the business myself in June 2018.”
Brennan is leasing the 1,000-square-foot space, which was formerly part of the old McClintock-Trunkey Co. Warehouse space. The building is being converted to office space following the demolition of the nearby Evergreen Parking Garage building.
Brennan says she worked with Garco Construction to remodel the space, which now includes new flooring, paint, mirrors, and exercise equipment.
She says the gym will have about six employees and offer classes in yoga, barre, boxing, and strength resistance exercises.
“Core Four is a multipractice fitness studio offering a flexible and innovative approach to mental and physical wellness,” she says. “Our classes are a head-to-toe workout, but they’re also a chance to refresh and work on becoming your best self.”
Brennan says Core Four is waiting on an official certificate of occupancy before it can open in the new space but hopes to do so later this month.
