Lucky You Lounge, a new eclectic music venue and night club, is set to have a soft opening in April and already has a music lineup for May.
Karli and Caleb Ingersoll are leasing the 10,000-square-foot space in the Sunset Junction building from commercial developer Dan Spalding. On the edge of Spokane’s historic Browne’s Addition neighborhood, the venue is located on 1801 W. Sunset Blvd.
The Ingersolls also own The Bartlett, an intimate music venue located at 228 W. Sprague downtown.
In addition to showcasing bands and various artists, Lucky You Lounge will be comprised of a restaurant and a bar with about a 50-person seating capacity, Karli Ingersoll says.
Minor construction began in 2018 and will continue through early spring.
Renovations will include slightly changing the floor plan on the main floor and building a stage, as well as improvements to a basement level.
Upgrades include new flooring, furniture, and light fixtures.
The basement, which is the smaller of the two levels, will have a glam-disco motif and will host local bands, comedy performances, and other acts with no cover charge.
The upper level will have a retro 1960s and ‘70s theme and will host shows that can handle at least 300 ticket-buying customers.
Chef and kitchen manager Josh Grimes is one of 20 employees who will be working at the venue, which will feature a menu including vegetarian and vegan options, along with other fare, Ingersoll says.
Ingersoll says that through The Bartlett’s extensive support system in the community, they raised $40,000 in May at a fundraising event hosted to support the opening of the upcoming lounge.
“We feel really passionate about bringing good bands to Spokane,” Ingersoll says.
