A Spokane-based Wendy’s restaurants franchisee has acquired seven Wendy’s restaurants in Nebraska.
Wenspok Resources LLC, which does business as Wenspok Cos., will add 250 employees to its current staff of more than 1,000, according to a press release issued by the company.
Wenspok has 40 restaurants in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and California. With the acquisition of WendGrand LLC, the former owner of the seven eateries, Wenspok makes its first foray into the Midwest region.
According to the release, the company plans to break ground on two restaurants and remodel one to two others this year. The release didn’t identify the locations of those restaurants.
A representative of Wenspok could not be reached immediately for comment. Terms of the transaction weren’t disclosed.
Wenspok was founded in 2012 by Peter Nisbet, according to information on file with the Washington state Department of Revenue. Nisbet is also senior vice president of investments for the Seattle arm of Calabasas, California-based commercial real estate company Marcus & Millichap.
The company’s headquarters are located at 503 E. Second, suite B, just east of downtown Spokane. According to the company’s website, Wenspok owns three Wendy’s restaurants in Spokane, four in Spokane Valley, and two in Coeur d’Alene.
