Kendall Yards tattoo shop, Mom’s Tattoo, is scheduled to reopen this week after expanding its location at 1226 W. Summit Parkway.
The shop, which has been operating for five years, is co-owned by tattoo artist Beth Swilling, her husband, Ti, and their eldest daughter, Shandra. The company has five additional employees.
The shop’s previous space was about 1,000 square feet but has been expanded to include an adjacent 1,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by the Core Pilates studio, Beth Swilling says.
The space was remodeled by a team from Liberty Lake-based Greenstone Corp., the development company that owns Kendall Yards, Swilling says.
“We’d had our eye on the space next door for a while, and this move enables us to expand our retail space as well as our service provider areas,” she says.
In addition to tattooing and piercing services, Swilling says the shop offers a large selection of implant-grade, American-made jewelry for piercings.
“We sell a lot of high-quality jewelry, so the new space is a showroom for that inventory and also includes new areas where clients can come for piercing and jewelry consults,” she says. “We’ll also be upgrading our tattoo stations and chairs.”
