Witherspoon Brajcich McPhee PLLC, a Spokane-based law firm established in 1985, has expanded into North Idaho.
Jim McPhee, managing partner of the law firm, says the Coeur d’Alene office of Witherspoon Brajcich McPhee had been scheduled to open Wednesday, Nov. 30, after the Journal’s press time. The firm occupies about 2,200 square feet on the fourth floor of the Spokesman-Review Building, at 608 Northwest Boulevard, in Coeur d’Alene.
“(North Idaho) is a market we’ve looked at for years. We have Idaho practitioners here in a variety of practice areas,” McPhee says. “We also have a number of clients in Idaho, so it just made sense.”
The Coeur d’Alene office has five employees, three of whom are attorneys who formerly were with Witherspoon Kelley, a Spokane-based law firm that’s being acquired by Boise-based firm Hawley Troxell.
McPhee says the firm’s Spokane office also is growing. With another attorney recently joining the firm, Witherspoon Brajcich McPhee now has 14 Spokane-based attorneys.
The Spokane office recently expanded to occupy the 12,000-square-foot 14th floor of the Chase building, after previously occupying 8,500 square feet on the seventh floor.
Witherspoon Brajcich McPhee was founded as Workland & Witherspoon PLLC by senior partner Peter Witherspoon and former partner James Workland in 1985. Brajcich joined the firm in 1992, and McPhee joined in 2001. In 2017, the firm changed its name when Workland left to start his own practice.
