Spokane Public Schools is in the midst of several ongoing projects funded by a bond measure passed by Spokane voters in 2018.
The largest project, located in northwest Spokane, involves replacing Shaw Middle School and adding buildings for the On Track Academyand Hillyard Public Library, says Greg Forsyth, SPS’ capital projects director.
Lydig Construction Inc., of Spokane Valley, is the project’s contractor. Integrus Architecture PS, of Spokane, designed the $70 million, 135,000-square-foot middle school.
The project is to be completed before the 2021-22 school year.
In the Hillyard neighborhood of northeast Spokane, the apparent low bidder for the $43.5 million Glover Middle School Replacement is Jackson Contractor Group Inc., of Spokane. The 135,000-square-foot school at 2404 W. Longfellow is to be completed in August 2021. NAC Architecture, of Spokane, designed the building.
At the base of the South Hill, a $23.5 million addition at Lewis and Clark High School is on track to be completed before school starts this fall.
Garco Construction Inc., of Spokane, is the contractor, and NAC designed it.
At Wilson Elementary School, located at 911 W. 25th, a $12.5 million classroom addition and gym replacement are to be completed this summer. Garco is the contractor.
