A building in the Iron Bridge development will be reverted to its former use as residential condominiums.
The 16,650-square-foot building at 629 N. Iron Court will be remodeled from office space to 13 condo units, says Iron Bridge co-owner Houston Stockton.
“It was designed for condos back in 2007 by the group that owned it before,” Stockton says. “The structure was already there. I thought it would be a good fit.”
A change-of-use permit was issued in late February, and work on Iron Bridge Condos began in early March, Stockton says. That work is on pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Stockton says he had expected work to take about five months and planned to finish the project in August.
The condos will range in size from 700 square feet for a one-bedroom unit to 1,800 square feet for a three-bedroom unit. Lofts will be added to many of the units, and existing lofts in some units will be enlarged, Stockton says. Work on the space is valued at $2 million.
The basement of the building will be converted to a secure parking garage, Stockton says. Plans on file with the city of Spokane show the garage will have 32 parking spaces.
Ron Joseph Architecture, of Spokane, designed the condos. Spokane Valley-based Divcon Inc. is the contractor on the project. DCI Engineers provided engineering services.
Stockton is managing partner of real estate ownership group Halladay LLC, which he owns with his brother, Michael Stockton, and sister, Lindsay Stockton.
