Dave & Buster's is being built by Walker Construction north of Interstate 90 and the Spokane Valley Mall.
| Dylan HarrisWork is well underway at the Dave & Buster’s Inc. project site in Spokane Valley, while Topgolf International Inc., another large entertainment company, is still expected to set up shop in Liberty Lake.
Spokane-based Walker Construction Inc. broke ground in October at 13921 E. Mansfield, north of Interstate 90, near the Spokane Valley Mall, on a 25,000-square-foot Dave & Buster’s arcade and sports bar facility.
Illinois-based Aria Group Architects Inc. is listed on the building permit as the architect for the project, which carries an estimated construction cost of about $7.5 million.
The all-ages entertainment venue is expected to be completed this summer or fall, Hunter Chambers, a project manager at Walker Construction told the Journal of Business in November.
Spokane County records show Dave & Buster’s of Washington LLC acquired the roughly 5-acre property in October for about $2.9 million from Centennial Properties-Mirabeau LLC—an affiliate of Cowles Co.
To the east, in Liberty Lake, a Topgolf venue is planned along Country Vista Drive, just south of Interstate 90 and east of Kramer Parkway.
Since the Journal first reported on the possibility of Topgolf coming to the Inland Northwest in August, amendments to lighting codes have been approved, removing one barrier that stood in the way of the driving range complex.
Lisa Key, community development director for the city of Liberty Lake, says an environmental review has been completed for an amendment to the binding site plan for the parcel of land Topgolf is eyeing.
“Topgolf has submitted for design review and has been approved for design review, but we have not yet seen the record of survey, or any building permits associated with it,” Key says. “I believe they’re working on it.”
Design review for the proposed Topgolf was completed recently.
As reported by the Journal, construction of a Topgolf venue in Liberty Lake would cost over $25 million and generate about 150 construction jobs.
Estimates show that the venue may generate over $20 million in tax revenue, about 250 jobs, and about 250,000 visits annually.
As proposed, the Topgolf venue in Liberty Lake would have over 70 climatized driving-range bays, allowing for year-round use.
