Washington State Department of Transportation has scheduled its fifth community conversation regarding the North Spokane Corridor's final connection project to Interstate 90.
The public is invited to attend the next meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19 , at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, Multipurpose Room, 500 S. Stone, in east central Spokane.
After a brief presentation at 5:30 p.m., attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions, followed by special guest and local artist Reinaldo Gil Zambrano, who is returning to collaborate and expand on his artistic vision that was developed for the NSC project from Mission to Sprague avenues.
Those attending will take part in an interactive discussion related to community themes and possible artistic design elements. The discussion and idea sharing, through imagining themes and colors, will help Zambrano shape the design that will be used for the corridor within the east central neighborhood.
The purpose of the meetings is to receive feedback, foster dialogue, and strengthen relationships between the Washington State Department of Transportation and community members. Additional meetings are planned for the third Wednesday of every month through May.
More information about upcoming meetings can be found at the NSC Place website.
