Spokane accounting firm HMA CPA PS has been acquired by the Aldrich Group of Cos., an Oregon-based accounting group that offers services in financial, wealth, tax, and business consulting.
The acquisition was completed on Oct. 31 and sets the stage for Aldrich Group to expand into the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene markets, says Aldrich Group CEO and partner John Lauseng.
Lauseng declines to disclose terms of the acquisition.
“We were looking for the right cultural fit,” he says. “We were looking for people with the same core mission, to help improve the lives of people and communities, and a growing market in which people want to live, work, and play.”
Lauseng says Aldrich has retained HMA CPA's four partners and 22 employees.
HMA CEO Kevin Sell says in a press release that joining Aldrich Group will allow the firm to bring more value to its existing clients and provide opportunities for growth to its staff.
“Aldrich shares our entrepreneurial spirit, and we look forward to providing more services to our Spokane-area clients,” Sell says.
HMA was founded in Spokane in 1983 and occupies a 10,000-square-foot suite on the 10th floor of the Washington Trust Bank Tower East building, at 601 W. First, in downtown Spokane. The firm has grown through expanded services and a strategy to acquire firms with retiring owners.
Aldrich Group is headquartered in Lake Oswego, Oregon, and is comprised of Aldrich CPAs + Advisors LLP; Aldrich Wealth LP, a registered financial advisement firm with over $6 billion in assets under management; and Aldrich Capital Advisors LP, which provides advice on business transactions. Aldrich Group has about 500 employees.
With the HMA acquisition, Aldrich Group now has eight offices across Washington, Oregon, Utah, California, and Colorado. Lauseng says the group serves clients in several industries, including construction, manufacturing, health care, and agriculture.
