California-based Mother Lode Holding Co. has established a new title company, Washington Title & Escrow Co., in Liberty Lake.
Rick Brown serves as president of Washington Title & Escrow, which is located in 2,900 square feet of office space at 2207 N. Molter. The company currently has nine employees, and Brown expects that number to grow.
“We’re above capacity,” says Brown. “We’re looking to hire every day.”
Brown is also president of North Idaho Title Co., which has operations in Coeur d’Alene and Sandpoint.
Gavin Jacobson, vice president of Washington Title & Escrow, oversees the North Idaho title operations and will be involved heavily in the Liberty Lake operation.
Mother Lode Holding also oversees Montana Title & Escrow Co., in Big Sky and Bozeman, Montana; Wyoming Title & Escrow Co. in Jackson and Thayne, Wyoming; and Targhee National Title, in Driggs and Victor, Idaho, Brown says.
The parent company also has other escrow and title companies in Arizona, California, and Texas, he says.
A 28-year-veteran of the banking and title industries, Brown says business is active right now.
“You read all the stories about what parts of the economy COVID-19 has all but taken out,” Brown says. “And then there are all the stories about what parts of the economy that have taken off because of it. I’m struggling to think of a time I’ve ever been this busy.”
Brown says he’s looking for experienced professionals with diverse work experience.
“We find that seasoned, veteran people are drawn to the work,” Brown says.
