Bakker joined Mountain West Bank in 2023 and has 12 years of banking experience. Jeffery Rishew has been named vice president, manager of Coeur d'Alene location at 125 W. Ironwood Drive. Rishsew joined Mountain West Bank in 2014.
Spokane Valley-based aluminum castings equipment manufacturer Wagstaff Inc. has promoted Steve Anderson to CEO from vice president of sales and marketing. Anderson has been with Wagstaff since 1995.
Eastern Washington University has hired Dawn K. Lewis-Kinnunen as dean of EWU's College of Health Science and Public Health beginning Aug. 1. Lewis-Kinnunen currently is serving as the interim chair of the department of communication at California State University, Fresno.
Spokane-based DS Studio has hired Lauren Welsh as an interior designer. Welsh has over 11 years of design experience and was previously an interior designer at Spokane-based architectural firm Bernardo Wills.
Coeur d'Alene-based law firm Smith+Malek has hired Jessica Oman as its chief operating officer. Oman's previous roles included director of strategy and operations at a regional law firm and chief of staff at a consulting firm, where she was a strategist on consulting projects.
Boise, Idaho-based GLR Engineers has hired Drew Hopkins as a structural project manager in the Spokane office. Hopkins previously worked at Boise-based Plan North Engineers as a project manager. Hopkins has 10 years of experience in the structural engineering industry.
Spokane-based law firm Winston & Cashatt has hired Christine M. Meegan as an associate attorney. Meegan previously worked for Millwood-based law firm Phelps & Associates handling both criminal defense and civil litigation, with an emphasis on civil rights.
Spokane-based Power City Electric has promoted Steve Gilbertz to president from vice president. Gilbertz started working at Power City Electric in 2006 as an apprentice.

Caitlin McCaslin, program director at the Spokane HOPE Center for Deaf & Hard of Hearing Children, has earned Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization AG Bell Academy's listening and spoken language designation of Auditory Verbal Communicator. Spokane HOPE has also named Jordan Curnutt, of Quantum Financial Planning, and Courtney Stolp, of PotlatchDeltic, as board members.
Joey Nestegard, chief business and finance officer of Pullman, Washington-based Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, has been appointed by Gov. Jay Inslee to serve on the Washington Employee Ownership Commission. The commission will develop and oversee the Washington Employee Ownership Program within the state Department of Commerce.
Terry Brinton, of North Idaho College, and Cally King, of the Coeur d'Alene Resort, have been designated as board members by Dogsmile Adventures, a Coeur d'Alene-based nonprofit that provides therapeutic sailing experiences.
