Construction is set to begin in the coming weeks for a pair of two-unit commercial buildings in Hayden, just south of Coeur d'Alene Airport-Pappy Boyington Field and west of North Atlas Road.
Located at on the 3100 block of west Bellanca Court, the two buildings have estimated construction values of $720,000 each, permit information on file with the city of Hayden shows.
Scott McPhee, who owns the vacant 1-acre property through Hayden-based company Airport Holdings LLC, says, the project could be completed by late spring, weather permitting.
Airport Holdings isn't affiliated with the Coeur d'Alene Airport.
Hayden-based EHP Construction & Development, which also is owned by McPhee, is the contractor for the project. BC Engineers Inc., also of Hayden, is handling engineering services.
Each of the four rentable units will have about 900 square feet of office space, 2,600 square feet of heated shop space, and outside yard space, says McPhee.
The office spaces will include three offices and a reception area in each unit, McPhee says. This size and layout of each unit isn't common in Hayden, he says.
"We're really trying to fit that need for a business that has more office needs, but doesn't necessarily need a big 7,000-square-foot building."
The project also includes a parking lot, McPhee says.
While permit information refers to the two buildings as industrial duplexes, McPhee says they aren't limited to just industrial companies.
"It's built for whoever wants it and could use the space," he says.
