A Spokane-based investor group doing business as Northern Heights II LLC and a handful of minor investors have purchased a 232-unit Airway Heights apartment complex for $33.5 million, according to Spokane County Assessor’s Office records.
The 470,800-square foot Northern Heights Apartments are located at 802 S. Garfield Road, less than a half-mile north of Highway 2.
Assessor’s office records say the apartment complex was built in 2018.
Kevin McCathren, of downtown Spokane-based McCathren Management & Real Estate Services, is listed as the buyer’s agent on a Washington state Department of Revenue real estate excise tax affidavit.
McCathren couldn’t be reached for comment.
The tax records show Northern Heights II holds 68% controlling interest in the property. The next largest holding company listed is LD-NHA LLC, with 12% interest, according to the affidavit.
Northern Heights Apartments occupies nearly 11 acres of land, and the complex includes 10 apartment buildings. Spokane County Assessor’s Office records show eight of the Northern Heights Apartments buildings have 24 living units each, and two buildings have 20 units apiece.
The complex also includes a dedicated community center building, which has a fitness center.
Northern Heights Apartments’ website shows apartment floor plans ranging from 610-square-foot studio apartments to three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments occupying 1,100 square feet.
