Tech Group Inc., a Spokane-based company that provides temporary staffing for hospitals nationwide, has bought the former Integrus Architecture PS building in downtown Spokane.
Royce Drye, president and CEO of Tech Group, says the company plans to move its corporate offices to the two-story, 16,000-square-foot building, at 242 W. Main, after remodeling the exterior and interior of the structure extensively.
The company needs more space to accommodate anticipated growth, Drye says. It currently employs 30 people at its headquarters here and has about 100 external employees who work temporarily at hospitals nationwide. It expects its headquarters work force to double to about 60 people in the next three years.
Tech Group provides temporary staff members, such as technologists, therapists, and nurses, to hospitals. It started here about 11 years agoHoly Family Hospital was its first clientand now works with about 400 hospitals nationwide, the largest percentage of which are in the Western U.S., Drye says.
Madsen Mitchell Evenson & Conrad PLLC, of Spokane, is designing the $400,000 remodeling project, and construction could start within a few months, although a general contractor hasnt been named yet, Drye says. He says the building should be ready to occupy by next October.
Tech Group bought the building from Bill Colacurcio, of Post Falls. Terms of the transaction werent disclosed. Jeff McGougan, of Tomlinson Black Commercial Inc., who represented the seller in the transaction, says the building has been vacant for about three years.
Tech Groups offices currently are located in about 6,500 square feet of floor space on the sixth floor of the Paulsen Center, at 421 W. Riverside.
Michael Meagher, of Kiemle & Hagood Co., and McGougan handled the transaction.
