Spokane real estate broker and developer Robert H. Cooke is developing a $1 million condominium building overlooking the Spokane River in the historic Brownes Addition neighborhood, just west of the citys core.
Cooke says work on the three-level structure, at 1902 W. Riverside, started last month, and is expected to be completed by next July.
The building will include six living unitsfour with views of the river and two that face Riverside Avenue. Three living units will be located on each of the top two floors, and the bottom level will accommodate parking. The property previously had been vacant.
Each of the living units will include about 1,000 square feet of floor space with one bedroom and 1 1/2 bathrooms.
The condominium units will range in price from $175,000 to $275,000, Cooke says. Two of the units already have been sold, he says.
The north-facing walls of the four river-view living units will include doors made largely of glass that will open onto patios. The living units on the top floor will have 14-foot-high cathedral ceilings.
Cooke, who is developing the structure through a company he owns named Cooke Development Corp., has been involved in developing a couple of other condominium buildings in Brownes Addition. Most recently, he headed a company that developed the $4 million, 12-unit West Riverside Condominiums. That two-building complex, completed last year, is about two blocks west of the site of the new six-unit structure and also overlooks the Spokane River.
Cooke also is president of R.H. Cooke & Associates Inc., a real estate and property-management company here.
Spokane architect Ed Klapp designed the new six-unit condominium building, and Blews Custom Homes Inc., of Spokane, is building it.
