Airway Pointe Seniors LP, of Hayden, Idaho, is developing a 51-unit, 10-building Airway Heights apartment complex for senior citizens.
Whitewater Creek Inc., of Hayden, is the owner of and contractor on the project, called Airway Pointe, and has completed footings on the buildings there, says Alfred Pilialoha, community development director for Airway Heights. Representatives of Airway Pointe Seniors LP and Whitewater Creek couldnt be reached for comment.
Pilialoha says, though, that city records list the value of the project at about $2.6 million, and he expects work there to be completed before the end of next year.
The senior housing complex is being constructed on 5 acres of land in the northwest corner of Airway Heights, at the northwest corner of Sixth Avenue and Aspen Street, he says.
Just south of that project, across Sixth, is a 50-unit, two-story affordable-housing development with six buildings that Whitewater Creek completed in October, Pilialoha says.
He says the latest complex will include nine one-story apartment buildings and a one-story recreational building. The apartment buildings will include a total of 37 two-bedroom units and 14 one-bedroom units, he says.
Each building will have four to seven living units.
The two-bedroom units will have about 900 square feet of floor space, and the one-bedroom units will have about 650 square feet of space, he says. The recreational building will include about 5,200 square feet of floor space.
The complex was designed by Zeck Butler Architects PS, of Spokane.
Whitewater Creek has a history of developing affordable housing for seniors in Spokane County and North Idaho.
