Manito Golf & Country Club plans to construct a new pro shop and simulator building, permit applications on file with the city of Spokane show.
The new simulator building will be located on the golf club’s property at 5303 S. Hatch Road, just north of the existing clubhouse, on a site where a golf cart storage area and pro shop are located. Plans show the club intends to construct a nearly 10,700-square-foot clubhouse that will include a pro shop, lounge, dining area, pool, and golf simulators.
There will be four simulator stations, says Mark McDonald, of Spokane-based Indigo Diggs LLC, who performed code reviews on the project for Spokane-based Garco Construction Inc., which is managing and designing the project.
Permit applications show Yost Gallagher Construction, of Spokane, is the general contractor on the project, which is valued at $1.75 million.
That doesn’t include a new nearly 8,000-square-foot golf cart storage building that is also planned at the site, according to planning documents.
Site plans show the cart barn will be north of the planned simulator building.
Plans also show a cart wash, bag storage, and junior bag room with personnel lockers within the facility.
Additionally, the project includes space for 98 cart stalls, site plans show.
The project also includes landscaping.
Permits for the cart barn have been issued. As of the Journal’s press time, permits hadn’t been issued for the simulator building.
The Manito Golf & Country Club was founded in 1917 at Hart Field, before moving to its current South Hill location in 1922, according to the club website. It currently has 600 members.
