August Systems Inc., a Spokane company that develops and sells computer software for home health-care agencies, plans to move next month and hire more employees.
Rick Williams, chief operating officer for August Systems, says the business plans to lease a 2,800-square-foot space in the Northtown Office Building, at 4407 N. Division, and will move its 12-person Spokane office there at the end of August. Currently, it occupies a 2,100-square-foot space at 1212 N. Washington, in the Rock Pointe Corporate Center north of downtown.
The move will accommodate August Systems growth, Williams says. Its revenues grew 30 percent in 2007, and he expects about 25 percent growth this year. Williams says the company likely will hire two new employees for its Spokane office following the move. In addition to its Spokane employees, August Systems has seven employees scattered around the country.
The software the company sells helps home health-care and hospice organizations manage patient and employee data, schedule patient visits, document clinical information, bill clients or insurance companies, and handle payroll, Williams says. The company customizes software for its clients, depending on billing requirements and documentation regulations in the clients state, and provides training and technical support to its customers, Williams says.
August Systems owners, Glen and Judy Martin, also own another business, a related home health company in Coeur dAlene, called August Home Health Inc., that provides in-home health-care services and employs about 130 people, Williams says. They founded August Systems in 1990, he says.
The Martins earlier founded Spokanes Wismer-Martin Inc., a prominent supplier of accounting software for physicians. Physician Computer Network Inc., a Morris Plains, N.J.-based medical software maker, acquired Wismer-Martin in 1996.
