Intermountain Supply Inc., a roofing and vinyl siding wholesaler that operates at two Spokane Valley locations, says it has begun construction of a complex at a third site that will serve as its primary distribution center here.
Owner Pamela Bording-Gray's husband, Steve Gray, says Intermountain is developing a 50,000-square-foot warehouse and an associated 4,000-square-foot office building on a six-acre site it has bought at 7011 E. Mission. He estimates the cost of the project at $3.4 million, including land costs, and says it's expected to be completed by March.
Gray says he's performing general contracting duties for the building project, and Westmark Consulting Services LLC, of Spokane Valley, has been hired to serve as construction manager.
Intermountain's main yard currently is at 7404 E. Indiana, where it has operated since 1995, and the company also has a siding yard at 1321 N. Thierman, he says.
Intermountain will retain ownership of those properties, he says, but likely will lease one out to another party and use the other for storage. The company also has an office and warehouse in Seattle.
Gray says the company bought the property on Mission so it can consolidate its operations here into one location. He says the company also will benefit from having a rail siding at the new location.
Founded in 1995, Intermountain supplies roofing and siding materials both for residential and commercial use. It employs about 20 people, Gray says.
