Sizzling Caesars LLC, of Salt Lake City, has bought six Little Caesars outlets in Eastern Washington, including one here, will open another in Spokane Valley next month, and plans a third here before long.
Mitch Lowe, the company's general counsel and vice president of development, says the six Little Caesars outlets, including one at 6101 N. Division, were purchased in December from former franchise owner Rob Murphy.
The other outlets in Eastern Washington are in Wenatchee, Pasco, Kennewick, Yakima, and Sunnyside, Lowe says. Murphy, the former owner, says he now is opening Little Caesars outlets in Mexico, where he was reached by phone.
Lowe says Sizzling Caesars plans to open in August an outlet at 509 N. Sullivan, and that Vandervert Construction Inc., of Spokane, is doing work to get 1,500 square feet of leased space ready for the new outlet in a retail building there.
"We were able to find a nice location with good visibility, easy in and out, and it fits the demographics in Spokane Valley," Lowe says. The new store will have 25 to 30 full- or part-time employees.
Lowe says Sizzling Caesars plans to open another outlet on the North Side in the fall or next spring.
"We just think Little Caesars is a good fit with Spokane," he says. "We've had success with our other locations. We just feel like the Spokane area is a good fit with the Little Caesars concept."
There are also Little Caesars outlets, owned by other franchisees, at 4015 N. Market, in Spokane; at 1521 N. Argonne, in Spokane Valley; at 1790 E. Seltice Way, in Post Falls; and at 192 E. Neider, in Coeur d'Alene. Kmart Corp. owns one at 4110 E. Sprague, in Spokane.
Little Caesar Enterprises Inc., of Detroit, claims to have built more stores in the U.S. last year than any other pizza chain, and to be the largest carry-out chain internationally with restaurants on five continents.
