Spokane Public Schools has named four Spokane architectural firms to design projects with a combined value exceeding $139 million.
The district picked NAC/Architecture Inc. to design the Ferris High School modernization, which is expected to cost $90 million to $95 million. Work on the project is scheduled to begin next spring.
Madsen Mitchell Evenson & Conrad PLLC was selected to design renovations of Finch and Jefferson elementary schools, which are expected to cost $28 million to $32 million combined. Work at Jefferson is slated to start in the spring of 2012, and work at Finch is to start the following year.
ALSC Architects PS was selected to design the Westview Elementary School replacement project, which is estimated to cost between $14 million and $16 million. Work there is scheduled to start next spring.
Bernardo Wills Architects PC was chosen to design heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and roofing replacement projects at Audubon, Cooper, Holmes, Mullan Road, Roosevelt, Whitman, and Woodridge elementary schools. The cost of those projects is estimated at $21 million.
A team that included school principals, staff members, the associate superintendent, and a school board member participated in the applicant review. The district says it will choose architects for two other projects during the 2010-2011 school year.
