The Spokane Home Builders Association's fifth annual Fall Festival of Homes is slated the last weekend of this month and the first weekend of next month.
The event features new homes constructed this year in the Spokane area and highlights the newest building techniques and styles, says Katherine Morgan, the association's marketing and events director.
This year, the show will include 36 homes constructed by 21 Spokane-area builders. All will be open to the public during show hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 25-27 and Oct. 2-4. The show will be a scattered-site event, with homes in a variety of Spokane-area neighborhoods and at a range of prices, Morgan says.
The featured homes will range from a $160,000, four-bedroom starter home with 2,000 square feet of floor space built by Hayden Homes in the Sunset Crossing residential development in Airway Heights, to a $2.2 million, five-bedroom luxury home with 9,600 square feet of floor space built southeast of Spokane Valley by Camden Homes Inc.
Several homes are certified Built Green, meaning they meet conservation and sustainability standards developed by the association, Avista Corp., the Washington state Department of Ecology, and other public and private entities, Morgan says.
People interested in visiting any or all of the homes can pick up profiles of them and maps at host site developments, which include Eagle Ridge, The River District, Crystal Meadows, and Five Mile Heights. Directions to the host sites are available on the SHBA Web site, at www.SpokanesFestivalOfHomes.com
