Tina and David Bishop, of Spokane Valley, say they've leased a large space in the Riverwalk Plaza near Trent Avenue and Hamilton Street where they plan to open soon one of two events centers in a venture that also will include a restaurant, lounge, and second such center in the former Percy's Caf Americana site, in Spokane Valley.
The new venture, Luxury Box LLC, is expected to employ between 50 and 75 people between the two locations, which both will do business as Luxury Box, says Tina Bishop.
Bishop says the couple already has opened the 11,000-square-foot events center in part of the former Percy's location and plan to open the restaurant and lounge in the rest of the 21,000-square-foot space, which is located at 10512 E. Sprague, in the U-City complex. Percy's closed earlier this year.
The couple plans to open their events center in Riverwalk, located at 1003 E. Trent, by early next month, she says.
The Riverwalk Plaza events center is to be located in the former Fat Tuesdays concert venue, which has been vacant for some time, Bishop says.
It has the capacity to hold about 150 guests, she says. The Luxury Box currently is remodeling the space, but is taking reservations for holiday parties, she says. It also will cater banquets and receptions there and at the Spokane Valley location, she says.
In addition, Bishop says, Luxury Box LLC will cater events during the summer months at a Rockford, Wash., wedding venue named a Touch of Country.
Bishop says the couple's goal is to provide upscale entertainment and events venues at both the Riverwalk and U-City locations.
"We want to excite our guests and give them an experience I don't think they've had here yet. We want a red-carpet feel," Bishop says.
