Owners of two professional practices plan to develop a $2.3 million office building near the intersection of Grand Boulevard and 37th Avenue on Spokane's South Hill, says one of the two, podiatrist Borys Markewych, of South Hill Foot & Ankle Clinic.
Markewych says he and dentist Stanley Sargent, of Parkside Dental Care, have formed Grand Health LLC, which will own the building, planned at 3707 S. Grand. The building will be just east of Grand Corners, a two-structure commercial development occupied by a Starbucks Corp. coffee shop and a Snap Fitness outlet.
Markewych says he and Sargent hope to begin construction of the three-level, 16,000-square-foot structure in February, and both practices plan to move into the building from smaller, leased quarters next October.
Leone & Keeble Inc., of Spokane, is the contractor on the project, and OMS Inc., of Spokane, designed it. The Spokane office of Bellevue-based DCI Engineers Inc. is the structural and civil engineer.
Three rental houses will be demolished to make room for the building, Markewych says. The homes currently are occupied, but tenants were informed of the development plans over the last year, he says.
Markewych says the practices plan to add three or four employees to each of their staffs. South Hill Foot clinic has two employees, and Parkside Dental Care has seven.
South Hill Foot & Ankle currently is located at 3028 S. Grand, and Parkside Dental is at 1403 S. Grand.
