Contractor and developer Barry Baker is leading a project to construct a $5 million medical office facility at the Liberty Lake Commons development in Liberty Lake.
The two-story, 26,000-square-foot structure will be called the Liberty Lake Health & Wellness Center and will be located at 1334 N. Whitman Lane, Baker says. Liberty Lake Commons LLC, which includes members of Baker's family and others here, owns the property and will own the building, he says. He says there are about eight investors in all.
His company, Baker Construction & Development Inc., of Spokane, will be the general contractor on the project, and the project architect is Bernardo Wills Architects PC, of Spokane, he says. Construction should start in less than two months and likely will take about six to eight months to complete, Baker says.
Columbia Medical Associates LLC, of Spokane, a primary-care physicians group, will lease about 5,000 square feet of space in the building, Baker says. A physical-therapy concern also will be a tenant, as will a medical imaging services provider and a laboratory, he says. About 4,000 square feet of floor space still is available for lease, he says.
The new building will be located about two blocks north of Country Vista Drive and just south of Interstate 90, between Stanford and Whitman lanes. Baker Construction also is constructing two other nearby buildings, each at a cost of about $1 million.
One is a 6,100-square-foot office building at 1328 N. Stanford Lane that primarily will be occupied by a dentist, Dr. Michelle Olmstead, of Liberty Lake Family Dentistry. The other building is a 7,100-square-foot, multitenant office building at 1326 N. Stanford, which will be a single-story structure.
