Valley Young People's Clinic PS, a Spokane Valley-based medical practice that specializes in pediatric care, plans to build a $1.3 million medical office building in Liberty Lake.
Georgette Wendt, the practice's administrator, says the clinic hopes to break ground this month on a two-story structure that will have 4,800 square feet of floor space with nine exam rooms and a procedure room on the ground level, and a smaller second floor with work space for physicians. The office is scheduled to open in December, Wendt says.
Ramey Construction Co., of Spokane, is the contractor on the project, and OMS Inc., of Spokane, designed it.
The new structure will be located at 23813 E. Appleway, just north of the Huntwood Industries Inc. cabinet factory.
When the project is completed, the clinic's Liberty Lake satellite office will move out of smaller quarters it leases in the Liberty Lake Medical Center, at 2207 N. Molter, Wendt says. Its main office is at 1414 N. Vercler Road, where it occupies a 7,600-square-foot, two-story office building it owns near Valley Hospital & Medical Center.
Valley Young People's Clinic has seven physicians who rotate between the Valley and Liberty Lake offices, and it plans to add another physician when the new office opens, Wendt says.
The clinic has a support staff of 25 employees, including three nurse practitioners, most of whom also rotate between the two offices.
Valley Young People's Clinic opened in 1976 and has outgrown several locations since then, Wendt says.
