PrimeSource Credit Union, of Spokane, says it has joined a national shared-branching network that will enable its members here to do banking transactions at more than 6,400 locations across the U.S.
The network, operated by Ontario, Calif.-based Financial Service Centers Cooperative Inc., allows credit union members to access their accounts and do basic transactions at the branches and ATMs of other credit unions that are part of the network. That network also includes banking kiosks at 7-Eleven stores nationwide, PrimeSource says.
Using the network, customers can make deposits, cash personal checks, withdraw funds, transfer money from one account to another, get balance information, and process loan payments and advances, the credit union says.
"Joining the FSCC network offers our members the safety and convenience of being able to access their accounts across the nation," says Margaret Burkholz, CEO of PrimeSource.
Financial Service Centers Cooperative includes credit unions with locations in all 50 states, as well as in Puerto Rico, Guam, and on some foreign military bases. Its member credit unions together have assets totaling more than $138.5 billion and 12.4 million members, its Web site says.
The network includes six other credit unions in the Spokane area, according to the cooperative's Web site. They include Spokane Teachers Credit Union, Global Credit Union, Spokane Federal Credit Union, United Health Services Credit Union, Washington State Employees Credit Union, and Numerica Credit Union, it says.
PrimeSource Credit Union, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, has $46 million in assets. It formerly was known as Telco Credit Union, but took on its current name in 2005.
